Birds Resort Story
The Beginning

Where Luxury Meets the Untamed

Birds Resort was born from a simple yet profound idea — that the world's most luxurious retreats should exist in harmony with nature, not apart from it. Nestled on the shores of the serene Nagara Lake, our resort is set within Sri Lanka's largest bird park, a living sanctuary of over 10,000 birds across more than 500 species.

Every room, every pathway, and every experience has been thoughtfully designed to immerse you in the sights and sounds of this extraordinary ecosystem. From the Scarlet Macaw to the Golden Pheasant, the wildlife here isn't just a backdrop — it is the very soul of the resort.

Our commitment to sustainability extends from our organic farm — which supplies our kitchens daily — to our conservation programs that protect and enrich the habitats within our grounds. To stay at Birds Resort is to participate in a story much larger than yourself.

The Ecosystem

The Nagara Lake Ecosystem

Nagara Lake is much more than a scenic view — it is the beating heart of our ecosystem. This tranquil body of water supports a complex network of aquatic life, migratory birds, and lush riparian zones that form the foundation of Birds Resort's extraordinary biodiversity.

Guests can enjoy lakeside meditation, guided kayak tours at dawn, or simply watch the sunset paint the water in shades of gold from the comfort of their private balcony.
